Methodologies

Easy Tiger’s Stephan Neuwerk has extensive training and experience across many clinical modes and techniques. Here are just some of these:

Talk Therapy

Sometimes, we just need to talk it out with someone. Easy Tiger Psychology is an excellent choice for someone looking for a highly experienced clinical psychologist who can help work through mental obstacles or challenging situations in a safe 1-1, couples or group context. We’ll use different methodologies as we work together, but at its core Easy Tiger Psychology offers an open, honest environment in which to resolve life’s challenges.

Hypnotherapy

Only 5% of our mental capacity is able to be used consciously. The other 95% which covers thinking, feeling, behaviour are managed unconsciously. Hypnotherapy is about tapping into this 95% of mental potential, using it to overcome challenges and behavioural patterns you struggle with. Hypnotherapy is really a process of putting you into a day dream like state of relaxation and concentration which makes us receptive to new ideas.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

It can be difficult to break a cycle of negative or unhelpful thought patterns. Some of these patterns can lead to isolated mental challenges, or even an ongoing psychological disorder. Over a long period, negative thinking will likely have a detrimental impact on our daily lives. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or ‘CBT’, is a practical methodology used to identify the root of the negative thought and form new associations with these - lessening the impact of them in the process. CBT equips you with a toolbox to cope with and overcome mental challenges, enabling you with more freedom to enjoy daily life.

EMDR

(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

The source of mental disorder, depression, anxiety or other psychological challenge is sometimes contributed to by a past traumatic event. The pain experienced by a considerable negative life event when not processed and worked through can rewire our thought patterns, leading to a range of future obstacles including post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. The approach of EMDR is to access these past events, process them and have the brain adapt and transform our associations with these thoughts in a way that reduces their impact on us and our lives.
